the iris' are finally blooming. if i knew anything about cutting them for cut flowers i would. for now they are pretty on the outside. until i decide to just cut them off and bring them in to the table.
i ran some errands in town by myself yesterday. it was barely raining on the way home. i rolled the windows down, turned up the heater, drove fast and let my hair blow wildly in the wind. rich mullens was on the radio singing -
I believe in God the Father,
Almighty Maker of heaven and Maker of earth,
And in Jesus Christ
His only begotten son our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary.
Suffered under Pontius Pilot
where he was crucified dead and buried.
And I believe what I believe in
is what makes me what I am.
And I did not make it,
no it is making me
It is the very truth of God
and not the invention of any man.
I believe that He who suffered
was crucified, buried and dead.
He descended into hell
and on the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven
where He sits at God's mighty right hand.
I believe that He's returning to judge
the quick and the dead of the sons of men.
I believe in God the Father,
Almighty Maker of Heaven and Maker of earth
And in Jesus Christ His
only begotten Son our Lord.
I believe int the Holy Spirit,
one Holy Church
The communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sin
I believe in the resurrection
I believe in a life that never ends.

rex came home on a whim early before lunch today - i like it when whims happen.
so the vacuum salesman came calling the other afternoon. wow - just say sucker!!! '25 minutes ma'am is all it takes and we'll clean for free a room in your house, or a couch or your car interior.' me thinking to myself 'hum, no suburban seats aren't cloth and only one room in the whole house has carpet. but the living room rug . . . ok.'
25 minutes turned into a never ending 2 1/2 hours - where i got a never ending sales pitch on kirby vacuums. did you know a kirby can blow up balloons for the kids. and my husband would never have to clean the gutters again. also it could be a leaf blower and a suction for a clogged tub drain. it does remove dirt from grout in tile.
wow he went on and on. meanwhile my children are missing a nap and turning into something other than their normal selves. they at least liked the balloons he kept blowing up.
how do i ask him to leave . . . ?
i was not going to be purchasing the $2500 kirby that afternoon.
yes i admit my dirt devil does not even compare . . .
and later on after they had left i realized i'd missed a perfect witnessing opportunity !! ahhh
i 'don't get out much' and here the salesman is in my living room for 2 hours trying to make conversation with me and i did not even think about it!!! i was getting pretty annoyed. only giving yes and no answers to his questions about where i grew up and was it my grandma again who used to own a kirby . . .
so i was bummed over that and my totally blown afternoon.
but
the carpet is clean
the late shift.
graveyard.
swing shift.
i worked them all last night. i'm actually glad i don't go to bed early on those type of nights. i'd rather still be up at 12:30am when it all starts . . then to drag out of bed, warm and tired. i have more patience. i think better. i respond with better mothering qualities - than the selfish i just want to get back in bed ones.
poor molly had a rough go.
it wasn't over till a little after 2am. at a little before six after feeding her and putting her back to bed i decided to stay up and fold the loads and loads of laundry that got skipped over in the late night hours.
we are coming up to 3 weeks since the bottle switch. seriously not an easy decision. but it has been so good. we've never gone the bottle route so early, so full time before. buying formula . . another bIg first. molly's tummy is better for it. molly's mommy is better for it. molly's household is better for it : )
God is good.
we traded in the 'little black car'. we got it to last through school. we said we'd drive the wheels off it. rex is pretty good about unloading a car right before it nickels & dimes our saving account to nothing. the kids now say 'daddy's little grey pick-up' instead of little black car. i actually forgot the camera battery the night we went. we took a goodbye picture with the phone camera - all of us huddled around the car. we added a few kids in its lifetime!
i ran today. ha ha ha!!! they rode bikes. ben rode in the jogger. it's going to take some getting used to, to say the least.
got a chance to redeem my lost witnessing opportunity. richard was out checking his pumps. he believes in reincarnation, is convinced from his dad that God doesn't want to 'help' us, and (from sunday's message) was at a loss over who designed sailor.
it was a good time. he brought up everything and kept the conversation going. i was reminded again the life we are living before him is one he is watching pretty closely.
i need to clean up the kitchen.
its derby night tonight.
the kids are waking up.
i get to be a bridesmaid the summer.

time to end the random catch-up.
my hair needs some help. the half wet half dry clip up look is not going to work . . .

buy truth and do not sell it. get wisdom and instruction and understanding - prov 23
