its 11:32pm - we're still up. rex is out in the garage. i hear the jig saw & router every so often above the christmas music playing inside. he's making the kids gifts this year. he's very good at very many things - but tonight i'm reminded again at what an incredible carpenter he is . . .
santa's workshop is full of sawdust!
and i'm up too : ) so i'm sure each tomorrow till christmas we will pay for these extreme nights. but merry christmas - its a jolly, festive, happy, merry time of year!
she'd smile - but her brothers stuffed more candy in her mouth than she knew what to do with : )

we've got some backed up pictures to post. thanksgiving with the rodgers & a few from tree hunting . . .
rex's mom has for the second year in a row now bought the kids a pinata at thanksgiving. they are little enough that it takes quite awhile to bust it open!
waiting -
ben & gid did best when the poor pink rooster was just standing there!
we all thought the way they carefully inspected & picked out their candy was not quite like the mad dash to grab all you can get that is typical of pinata's breaking!

i love these next few -

we took off the next day for the national forest. its a tradition - nothing against all you tree lot people : ) we pass the semi's full of hundreds of tightly wrapped trees on our way to the mountain's. this year we took the kids into ihop still in their pj's. we didn't find the most pristine tree in the forest - somehow we always manage to come home with something more along the lines of charlie brown's. this time we even had people laugh at ours in the starbucks parking lot on the way back. but you know - its tradition & the memories are great.
they always look magnificent like this : )
everybody helping -
6 inches, buddy! the base can not be bigger than 6 inches -
never mind that there was absolutely NO snow. she felt the need for snow boots anyway -
his prize -
molly rode on my back as we snapped pictures looking for the perfect tree -

well its way past midnight now. the lights are off outside. my handsome carpenter will turn into an electrician in just a few hours. i'm wondering how long jack will sleep in in the morning - fully realizing he has no idea how late his mommy stayed up! but remember its christmas . . . . and its a silent night - save the dryer working.
