the view out our bedroom window early one morning last week -
our new view across the road - gone are our unusual photo back drops : ) instead its been cleared, disked, leveled, plowed, fertilized & plowed some more - ready for an orchard.

jack, my happy cheerful morning child was super curious in the early morning last week to know if it had snowed. the forecast had at one point said it might snow tuesday night . . . that's funny . . . it just got pretty cold & frosty and for one central valley boy it looked like snow : )

i've spent the last hour or so picking up the house. sunday mornings can be pretty hard on it! breakfast stacked in the sink . . . ironing board out and piled high with empty hangers . . . combs, squirt bottles, hair gel . . . pj's & dirty diapers . . . the bathroom is its own atomic bomb . . . rex always tries to at least clear the table off for me. he knows that for me somehow if the table is clear & wiped down somehow the rest of the house seems not as bad . . .
its been raining.
rex has been out in the shop. our christmas projects are just about finished. my hand sewing took its toll on my finger. 3 fresh bleeding cracks from bending it so much. just after 2 others had finally healed over! the barn for the boys is beautiful - if beautiful can be used to describe a barn. i was going to take a picture of it but the camera got left at grammy's today. we went over for lunch - she made each of the grandkids winter quilts. they are all snuggled with them sleeping now.
i ate my 1st candy cane this afternoon.
we have our annual christmas carole hymn sing tonight at church. sailor's favorite christmas song this year has been o little town of bethlehem - she's asked me to sing it every night before bed. so we'll probably request that one. and the boys are pretty good at away in a manger.
the laundry & dishwasher have stopped. the girls are just getting up. rex has come in. time to get ready.
