i burnt the oatmeal
or
the house is bombed & folded laundry has been sitting on the couch since monday
or
i was still in a nightgown at noon
or
the new cat has chewed two of molly's bottle nipples already
or
we're out of eggs
or
sailor's line this morning as i put rex's old work boots on to take the trash out (still in that above nightgown) - 'oh mom you're SO not a fairy!'
or
seriously if i have to answer 1 more time the what-is-this-stuffed-animal-rediscovered-from-the-tote-today's-name is - i could burn them all
or
it was really cold to run the mile around the alfalfa field today
or
just when poor, sad, crying molly is finally ok being by herself a brother comes and does something not ok to her
or
he just poked me straight in the nose . . . why!!??
or
'jack, where'd you get the gum?' from benny. 'where'd benny get the gum?' from sailor. and yes i actually asked where sailor got the gum!! from nobody, he said.
or
i could just call it new year's eve : )
there is a bit of real life for those of you who would have asked how i was today and i would have said 'great' : )
on my pandora radio today i heard a line from a song that said 'i will celebrate the 1,000 ways Your grace has made this day . . . . '
that was a good line. i actually heard it as i was sitting down to give molly lovies and as benny piled his blankets around me, excited he could be close by and as jack brought me books to read and as i deleted my 100% full txt message box on my phone.
. . . the 1,000 ways Your grace has made my day . . .
ah its new years eve. the last day of the year. tomorrow is 2009. three really special things stand out in my mind that happened this year -
molly glen was born.
rex's school is finished.
sailor accepted Jesus.
there were other exciting things like chad's wedding and news of aprils baby . . .
i think this year i've been more aware of all the area's in my life i want to change. ways i can be better. ways to grow and improve. i can do better at so much - a better wife, a better mom . . .
so there will be new years resolutions beyond the silly i should keep the oven cleaner and try and feed the cats daily not weekly : ) ones slightly more meaningful and lasting.
