tonight i'm home alone. catching up on laundry, on the dishes, on bookwork, on life, on my emotions : )
rex got that it'd be best if i just stayed home - he told me i had nothing to prove. i took my coat and shoes off and kissed him good-bye.
so lets catch up - what has been going on . . .
we are finally all almost well. the last couple months have been just sick. rex remarkably has the immune system of an iron horse. i don't even know how he avoided what we seemed to get and not just once but several times.
think molly dolly is getting some teeth -
and she walks now. she has these short little shuffle steps - its darling. she's picking up speed too - especially when trying to keep up with the boys or chase after fern. she loves carrying things around now that her hands are free. her blankie. a doll. a purse. the other day she proudly walked out of the laundry room with a bottle of salad dressing - a real treasure.
we have a new school schedule. nowhere is there a homeshcool rule that says school must start at 9am or earlier. we have an afternoon kindergarten class : ) its working much better. the boys join in the morning every now and then. we played yathzee the other day to learn & practice numbers and counting. and we read lots. benny sits for stories now more than he ever used to. 'you read it to me, mom.' he says.
i finally threw away the dead poinsettia the other day. it still had nice red color, which is why i guess i left it up for so long. its been replaced with roses from valentines.
i wore my slippers into town yesterday - pretending they were ugg's i guess : ) it was cold and rainy and my feet stayed warm and dry all day.
my little worker men found the cans of spray paint today. jacky thought the slide would look better a john deere green. ben thought our back steps would look nice in green as well. they also had every yard tool out on the lawn. before dinner they were sent out to clean up and when they came in with more green on their fingers and legs i asked if they'd clean up. they were cutting down trees - jack said in total and complete seriousness. in the orchard - he added. every now and then i just draw a blank for words to answer them . . .

this was sailor's 'gratefulness tree' she made at grandmas. she told me the stick people were her & Jesus.

yesterday rex, sailor, jack and dad went to watch the bike race - in spite of the pouring rain they said it was pretty cool. there was a lot of pictures on the camera : ) here are some . . .

we'll be celebrating another birthday this fall - not sure the exact date - but we're looking forward to it. we'll have birthday's every month from july to october now. we're just blessed, not much more to say than that . . .
the quiet has been nice - goodnight.
'we give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks - for Your name is near; men declare Your wonderous works . . .' psalms 75
