to start with -
i was doing a picture project in the laundry room the other day (which is why the camera was right with me) when i turned around and saw benny standing there and i quote -
'in my ear i heard God said to me go to find your mommy'
. . . over taking his nap. . . ???
i tried really hard keeping a straight face : )
lately between God and his little sister regan he's seemed to have 'heard' quite abit. what they have or haven't said & what they think he should & should not do.

before christmas i thought about taking them to the mall to have pictures done 'for reals' - but the coupon's are only for 1 free 8x10 and since there are 5 of them and i wanted more than just an 8x10 in the end that wouldn't exactly be saving money : )
so we tried doing our own thing.
i was going to call them school pictures for the 2009/2010 school year - but technically only sailor is in school . . . so a 1st grade picture for sailor and preschool/toddler/baby pictures for the rest : )

christmas morning - they all got wheels this year.
a bike for sailor.
a stroller for dolly.
and pedal go-carts for jack & benny!
we bundled up & went out to watch how the new wheels worked. yep, molly is just fine : )

regan is super excited to be big enough to wear the old giraffe 'jammies. they're the greatest - sailor, jack, ben & molly have all worn them. they are paper thin and just precious - i'll be sad when the giraffe's are put away for good. (amie doesn't appreciate the giraffe 'jammies and said regan was actually just excited to be talking to me : )

part of me wants to write out a nice reflective 2009 post - but i don't think i will. i thought about going back and hunting up favorite pictures from the year.

those are the top 3 things that come to my mind about last year. grandma died, that too. last spring when we talked about rex going to africa on a build project with the church i not so mildly stressed over how we'd afford the 1,000's of $$$ it would cost for him to go and how i'd manage 4 kids and a tiny new baby by myself for the time he would have been gone. and in the spring when there was crazy amounts of overtime and 10 hour days were not my friends. looking back the trip got canceled and somehow that extra money has gone alot further than we thought it could - looking back the pieces fit . . . looking ahead i'd like to skip a few pages forward and see whats coming next.
pastor asked in church last sunday if anyone still made new years resolutions and only one person raised their hand. really? no one does? maybe they are all like me and do but didn't raise their hands : )

just a few off the top in no particular order. go ahead, raise your eyebrows, smile, be alittle surprised at 1/2 the list - especially me learning to cook : ) its ok.

its really late. one of my resolutions should be to start going to bed earlier.
molly has cried out a couple times and for as late as it is i'd rather get up from the desk to help her over getting out of the warm bed.
