i apologized for snapping -
he said it was ok ... there were a lot of flies, the popcorn did smell bad & the poop was gross.
sometimes its nice to have someone agree with you : )
he did send the kids outside until further notice ......
and is doing a remarkable job cleaning up the kitchen
and he's jokes are pretty funny

this was benny at our back door the morning after their campout -

they have discovered the treadmill & its just doing my heart proud.
the number in the top left shows that she just ran a mile.
this is the kid with nothing to prove - running was not his thing ... sword fighting on the wii was : )
jack, right before his overnight date with grammy, grandpa & jude - he was just a little bit a lot excited!

i'm not sure why we thought it was a good idea to wake everybody up when it was still pretty much dark and head out .... but we did. we packed up dry cheerios in little ziplocs and decided why not? lets run -
i'm not sure how many times i'll have to watch this without being so proud on the inside the tears spill out ...
obviously i haven't watched it enough -
it was her first time to run alone. rex was at the turn around point & i was at the finish. she ran her mile in 9:32.
while i cheered & cried & took pictures.
it was our first time to the local hot air balloon festival -
a stroller breakfast -
my turn : )
she came back to run the last little bit with me -
i finished under my goal time -
checking out the standings. sailor finished 4th in her age group & the top three were all 11 & 12 year olds.
rex & i realized we'd never seen skydivers come in and land before - its really pretty cool.
yep, we're runners - its all about the shirts : )
tonight while rex is out washing the suburban ... in spite of harvest, he knows i like a clean car .... the kids are out doing their runs. they are barefoot running up & down the road using my old necklaces as medals.

i'm not sure what is up with my spur.of.the.moment ideas lately - 2 weeks ago going to ohio on a whim & running a 5k were not on the calendar. but we bought a ticket & less than 24 hours later i was on a plane.
she had no idea about the whim - and oh was the surprise sweet : )

she's got more pictures of my kids in her house than i do in mine ... i'm gonna need to fix that -
a little note that sailor sent with her present to amie -
not sure how she eats that food & wears that size ??? but it was her birthday so we let her do what she wanted.
it'd been a long time since we'd been cruising together in the old jetta -
no, this is not some historic mansion ... its just one of the houses on ones of the streets. i could drive for hours just looking out the windows.
it was a really quick trip - get there one day, leave the next.
until i missed my flight ....
and do you know why - we took too long in the old navy dressing rooms.
honest.
by the time we got there they'd closed the ticket counters, whoops.
she didn't seem to mind me missing my flight, until i told her it was kind of BIG deal - then she was sad : )

and rex ... well he let me go & kept the kids all weekend.
then took the day off work - cause there was no way i'd be home till the next day.
the next day just happened to be the first day of school. i sat in the middle seat of the plane in chicago wiping my eyes like crazy 'cause i was missing this -
what kind of mom totally misses her sons 1st day of kindergarten ???

well here's what happens when you run your kids just past what you should : )
this post has been retyped about 3 times .... the internet can be so frustrating.
by now everyone is in bed.
rex is kindly waiting for me.
there are still 2 days left of our four day weekend - how great is that.
