i promised him extra recess time if i could take his picture really quick. i told him i'd count to 20 & then he could go.
he gave me 5 more seconds after that & was gone.

jack is the only name we had picked out a kid before he was born. i really don't remember any other name being a possibility. it was always jack.
and again just jack, not jackson.
for his middle name rex called me early one morning after he'd left for work & i was still asleep ... i answered barely awake & he said 'hey how about this ...... '
really? not 'cause i didn't like it but because it wasn't his name or his dads name, it was my dads name & we were going through some things then and it just surprised me.
but it went together, well.
and as you know by now the rodgers side has been used in kids middle names since : )
jack means God is gracious - another perfect fit, He's been incredibly gracious.
he thought this was a test of some kind & asked if he was getting the right answers & i loved how he answered in complete sentences ... he really is learning in school : )
