Of the Last Days of Summer -

we totally didn't mean to chop chad out of this -

I gave myself a bed time tonight .... why? I don't know ... so I could just blow right past it : )

But there's something in me that says I must act grown up since this is the last day of summer vacation & school starts tomorrow.

Really its completely up to me how much sleep I get or don't get : )

It almost seems like Christmas Eve (almost!) the way back packs are all set out & ready, with first day of school clothes laid out. Lunches are made with little notes written.

'Wait ... but I thought you guys home schooled?'

:)

We do .... it's complicated. No our kids don't wear back packs from their bedrooms to the kitchen table, either.

Rex was off for the last 4 days.

Glorious.

Except for the times I was a little bit witchy & the time he totally ran the freezer door into my head. Other than that, it was super. Too bad we can't make a living off being together ....

His finer points of the weekend included fixing the a/c in our suburban & hanging a new screen door & buying me frozen yogurt & making the girls beds.

He only does if they're changing sheets ... he has this thing for folding all their blankets & lining up all their stuffed animals just so.

just chattin' with pearl -

We partied Saturday night. It's the year of 60 for our folks - so we got together to celebrate Grammy. We bbq-ed. We played pin the party hat on Grammy. We danced. We held babies. We sat at beautifully decorated tables. We lit glow sticks. My sister-in-law is lovely at throwing a party.  I'm so glad I married in : )

sailor took all the b&w pictures -

obviously i was sneaking in under april & they were saying shouting happy birthday, especially chad -
she's the cool aunt that actually has prizes for game winners & helps spray silly string at the boys -

candle lighting took some time :)

the spirit was willing ... the flesh was weak -

I was doing good on the whole bed time time .... I'm still doing kind of good : ) Good night .... those clean sheets call for a shower first.

Then bed.
Then the rest of our life.

'tomorrow's freedom is today's surrender - we come before You, lay our burdens down. We look to You as our hearts remember .... You are the only God, You are our on.ly God.'

love.love.love the lines from this song.

(... well sorry, no link. I'm blanking on the title & can't find it. Hunt around for All Sons & Daughters on youtube.)
