It's not even New Years & I'm making resolutions :)
1. blog more
Remember how you like to go back & read about life? .... yeah, well the better part of 2013 will be unreadable.
I can console myself with the fact that we still lived life in 2013. Helpful?
Welcome back .... mom :)
(she's probably the only one left who reads & even then we set her up with instagram so she could stay up to date on the latest phone pictures, so even she doesn't drop lines like 'it's been forever since you posted' anymore)
Blog more.
Got it.
jack was proud of this picture, he thought i'd like it :) |
We were suppose to have an anniversary party - November marks the 7th year of h0ldfast.
Instead we've practically abandoned it.
I would still be in pajamas save the fact that we had to run to town for a bike tire tube. We are hosting a Turkey Trot in the morning & some participants will be biking instead of trotting : )
Happy Vacation ... although we had most of last week off.
Colds & coughs ... we read The Adventures of Lewis & Clark, we watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang & we played Monopoly.
Get ready for random. My lack of blogging has left me with few beautiful layout skills, that and photobucket & I are having issues. I'm sure its them ;)

'hey mom'
'yeah Ben?'
'i partly know how to whistle now'
'few. few. few.'
'few. few.'
'that's it, right mom?'
He says he's learned all on his own.
They have told the lamest jokes all month long. In case you need some fresh entertainment here you go ... these have been used here over & over.
And over and over and over -
And over, are you getting the point : )
First in honor of Thanksgiving - 'why did the turkey cross the road?'
As Regan says the moment after she asks 'do you give up!'
'because it was the chickens day off' that's the part where you laugh.
'why did the turkey not eat thanksgiving dinner? ..... (give up?) 'because he was already stuffed'
And then there is their short very overused list of knock knock jokes.
Knock, knock? Who's there? Interrupting cow. Interrupting cow who? Moo. Moo. Moo. Moo. Moo.
(I know, right! I don't get it either :)
Knock, knock? Who'd there? Second place winner. Second place winner who? Exactly.
And then my favorite -
Knock, knock? Who's there? Banana. Banana who? Banana who. And from there she just repeats Banana who endlessly.
What?? : )

Right now the boys are riding bikes through the field, stopping every now and then to ascend to the top heights of the burn pile.
Pretty proud of his look after bike riding through the almost empty canals.

He was just tall enough at the Space Center to reach up & push buttons. But his lab coat .... ahhh, be still my heart.
we were viewing the sun ... with obvious & proper eye protection :) |
hello, i like you. |

They paved paradise & put in a parking lot .... the goal being to not have a lake this winter during the rain, the benefit being the kids have miles more bike riding pavement.
her expression slays me |
photo bombed by sailor : ) |
We went walking the other night. We were kind of our own parade : )
True story.
I took her with me to pick up our lawn mower at the lawn mower repair shop. I took care of my business by paying the nice old man $27.25 to fix our mower, while Roo took care of informing the nice old man all about our family. She confidently started by stating that I was not the one who would be working on the lawn mower - 'daddy does that' 'oh he does' agreed lawn mower man. Then she introduced herself, then told about her big brother Jacky and her other big brother Benny and they were boys and Molly was a sister and a girl and so was Sailor and she had a baby and his name was Chady and he was the baby brother and Mom was a girl and she was 4 and Daddy was a boy. She honestly had that many and's in her one long didn't-take-a-breath sentence. The only part the nice old lawn mower man got out of all of it was that 'daddy was a boy' to which he chuckled and replied 'i'll be darned' We thanked him for our lawn mower and left.
She will eventually tell every stranger our family secrets .... it's only a matter of time : )
Minus the helium balloons & the audience :)

she takes sit-ups with dad pretty seriously ... except when she pauses to pose for a picture |

Their first viewing of A Christmas Carole ..... now they have a point of reference of what a scrounge is & a holiday memory & another trip to the theater .... the real theater :)

Are you not completely ready for the holidays? Not like ready for them as in you have your shopping done & your cards addressed and stamped & you've been to see the Nutcracker already.
Just ready as in really excited they're here.
We are that kind of ready.
We mailed turkey pictures to Auntie Amie, we've done a little ordering on amazon & we've thought about what we should do for a Christmas card picture.
Plus we have egg nog in the 'frig : )
It is still almost too embarrassing to remember we didn't even send cards last year!
Rex will be home soon.
4 whole days together.
I'm deciding whether I'll turn on Christmas music tonight while I work like a mad women ....
:::::: dear amie, we know the pictures hanging on your walls are out dated, not current & show no resemblance to what we look like today. this was attempt 1 to fix that. it was cold, they were sick but it was nice light :) happy thanksgiving :::::::
Happy Thanksgiving.
Be thankful. Chose thankful. Do not be so selfish to think there is not always something to give thanks for. In every moment. Thanksgiving, then Joy, then Strength. End sermon to myself.
They have invited me to their own parade out on the black top .... they say it'll be good :)

You can be assured that more people are reading than just your mom! Some of us are naughty and stalk without leaving a comment (bad auntie).
Roo is fantastic. Chady with his combed over hair and jacket are more cuteness than any one human-being should be allowed to have.
Loved this long post and there's so much more I could say but I will end with Love Ya and see you soon!
Was just thinking a few days ago how I haven't been taking as many "everyday life" photos that your so good at! Fun to see these today and be reminded to pull out the camera more often...Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Alli~
Like April said, your mom is NOT the only one who reads and delights in your blog. :) Love you, friend.
