I can see the lights from the NOEL sign out on the wall of the garage through the window tonight. Rex can get lights & power to anything, anywhere. He's that good :)
My quick google search of the word noel tells me its french for christmas & comes from a Latin derivative referring to the Nativity of Christ.
I love the word. If Molly had been born 4 days earlier I might have pleaded for it as a girls name.
I love Christmas. I'm up tonight letting Advent and life and Christmas and truth sink in a little past skin deep.
All those words & lines I've been soap boxing to the kids lately ..... if I keep reminding them to leave their yuck & let Jesus be their Savior, maybe I should too.
A Savior from life, from hurt, from mess, from problems, from yuck, from rights, from me.
Stop, let it get passed my brain. I want it pumping to my heart & back out from my heart.
In other news I've only killed one poinsettia .... inside. (that doesn't include the 3 on the back porch that died in our .... cough/cough .... sub-freezing temperatures last week)
Also we went grocery shopping. We left Regan in the salsa aisle alone with the cart. One of us assumed that the cart, with Regan, went to get fresh garlic really quick while the other assumed it & her went to get egg nog & yogurt really quick. The lady half standing by her when we realized she'd been left gave us an evil look. I know ... who leaves their kid in the cart alone in the middle of the salsa aisle!!??!!
We also took Christmas card pictures. Or we tried taking Christmas card pictures. Upside number one - it was suppose to be foggy .... so great light. Upside number two - Ben was willing .... Benny is the lynch pin in family photos. Upside number three - Amie would be there .... she could jump & dance & be ridiculous & they would smile.
What else do you need!
Or better yet .... what could go wrong :)
a plastic jump rope & a rusty paint roller were their idea of props :) |
1 - the fog broke .... blinding bright sunlight
2 - turns out Ben isn't the only lynch pin anymore .... hello there mister
3. Amie did still dance.
And I know we didn't have 4 upsides but if I was the photo shopping type where I knew how to take his head from one picture & her head from another .... well, we might have come up with something.
So we might just draw stick people on the outside of our envelopes :)

Rejoice ... Emmanuel has come.

The upsides of picture taking and contemplating stick figures instead all makes perfect sense to me.
Happy Wednesday!

Chaddie just had his mouth fullllll, empty it out and he'll SMILE!!! ;D
Cute!
If you've gotta be left in an aisle, the salsa aisle is the one to pick.
