To .... Christmas of Twenty15 -

She asks each Christmas Eve if she can leave cookies for Daddy .... not Santa, lol.
just Daddy :)

It was all good, 'til Chad wanted to show Rex & the egg nog spilled.

It's raining.
Just this steady, coming down, winter rain.
As usual the window by Rex's side of the bed is open just enough to really listen to it.

Earlier Sailor was all ..... 'I haven't even looked at Disneyland pictures yet'
And as usual I was like that's because .... I haven't posted Christmas.
Follow the rules, darling daughter.
kidding. just kidding. we don't have stupid, unnecessary rules on how to blog for no reason whatsoever.

I. just. post. in. order. - #legalismdieshard
:)

Our Christmas was homey.
and vacationy.
We traveled & stayed home.
We baked & ate.
We watched White Christmas enough times for Chad to learn most of the songs.
We freaked out tried not to freak out over the different things we had got to do this year.

We read advent stories.
I was secretly delighted when the idea came from Sailor ..... yes and a fist pump to myself - she's not too old ....
Advent slows us down ... on purpose.
It takes the edge off Santa Christmas & reminds us that He came, He is with us, He is for us, He rescues us.
Rejoice.

Christmas morning -

Rex's Christmas present to himself was the elaborate way he wrapped clues & hid puzzles for them to work out to find a final box that had a gift for each of them with a ticket to Disneyland.
It was sweet magic to watch & he beamed the whole time.

And let's not forget the holiday classic - all the kids sit on the couch while mom passes out her gift & dad takes a picture while we're all looking ... like ... this.
lol.
Thanks for the gift, mom  & for the great and memorable photo, dad :)

In closing .... the family picture.

Cause, we're all in town, obviously.
Never mind Chad-boy was so sick he could barely stand.
Or that certain kids wanted nothing to do with their family's group picture.
Or the fact that in the shade in the backyard it was freezing .... for California.
Or that we didn't pay attention to the neighbor's air conditioning unit that photobombed every shot.

Just never mind & smile.
We'll start with the sixty-seven outtakes while everyone got their sweet, sick, freezing, or grumpy self to where they were suppose to stand. And we set the camera up so it wouldn't fall over on the makeshift tripod.

Clearly Regan wins the just be perfect in the picture award .... high-five, Roo.
