and her 3 year old mommy have been quite the pair the last couple days. generally her friends are rotated through - teddy for several days, then ruby, then maybe her brother's monkey, then teddy, then strawberry, back to teddy, then cabbage, teddy . . . as you can see teddy is the main stay. but 'rUb-s'(to say that correctly, you say ruby but drop the 'e' sound & add the 's' sound instead : ) has had priority lately. the other morning i heard her as she was getting ruby dressed -
'good job honey, mommy is so proud of you, good job getting your shirt on'
then she comes to me asking for help with ruby's tights, claiming 'it can be pretty tricky' to get 'rubs' dressed. that was the day she told me 'rubs' and i were purple birds. ruby had a purple dress on and i was wearing a purple shirt. i was feeling slightly bad for her the other day when it was at least 75 degrees outside & she dressed her in her snowsuit. then she told me it 'was a pretty good idea that ruby pie was wearing her snowsuit, don't you think, mom?' - well, normally snowsuits are for the snow i told her. not to worry - she had also packed her swimsuit, too!

we are having thanksgiving dinner tonight - gravy, stuffing, everything! really like it when family calls and says 'hey, come for dinner' - thats when we say ok! : )
although, i'm pretty sure i've got way too many potatos waiting to be mashed!

my man wins the perfectly amazing award for his actions yesterday. from walking me to starbucks, to really giving a noble attempt at staying awake while i ironed clothes at 12:15 in the morning - to some major incredible things in between, he gave me one rEalLy nice afernoon. so yeah, baby, i love you! ; )

there was a baptism at church today. i could cry at every baptism - so special. i'm glad we clap afterwards - it's like saying 'way to make Christ real' like we're standing on the sidelines as the runner passes 'you're doing it, don't give up, run to win' - i know that has nothing to do with these pictures & not even totally what baptism means, but still . . . .

not quite sure how we're going to be at dinner in 29 minutes when everyone is still sleeping - : ) better at least get going on those mashed potatos! it's maybe going to rain tomorrow & i'm maybe just alittle excited.
