right now i'm reminding myself of how i love where we live. our house at the end of a one lane road. the space around us. the orchards, the barns, the cows, the fields -
because its harvest : ) i always marvel at how harvest equipment or tractors, or stock trailers seem to come down the road at venerable nap times. or 30 minutes earlier than when would be good for them to wake up in the morning.
the almonds are in nice neat rows waiting to be swept up. and today around 2:47 the semi's and tractor/trailers came rumbling down the road. i've always wondered why they couldn't park at the other end of the 60 acre orchard - more along the corn field side than the house side. or why they decide to set up the conveyer belt 50 feet away from the boys bedroom window . . .
its harvest and jack is going to be very excited when he wakes up and see all this country life so up close. and i will wonder why i worry so much about the timing - they are still sleeping.

after my hour long glucose test today i wondered if maybe i would get diabetes! i've enjoyed more starbucks with girly than any of the others. frozen chocolate chips are practically a staple. after expressing my concern george informed me i probably had other things to worry about instead - yeah, like sweepers and sleeping little boys : )
anyway the test, the gross drink, the needle, the hour of not much to do is over.
and the exciting thing is - today is 27 weeks.

saw this in the rear-view mirror on the way to awana last night -
