grandpa told the boys the best way to get out the seeds out was to use their hands - they were not too sure!
we missed you, gid - you could have sat and ate pumpkin plup with benny. he thought it was pretty good : )
everyone else's dinner was popcorn & tootsie pops and they ate all night long. mostly the tootsie pops - one after another, after another, then another and . . . he came with a bucket of them and left with none.

i ran out alone after dinner last night to get some errands done. even though it was just for the basics - diapers, ingredients for making dinner for a family, making sure our costco membership didn't expire . . . it was quick but good down time. (i totally missed the earthquake.) he made sure my day was over by 8:30. the kids were in bed, the kitchen picked up, dove chocolates were waiting. and when i pulled in - the 3 happy faced jack-o-lanterns were brightly letting their lights shine. it was dark, they were glowing. they were easy to see, you could tell they had a light burning inside. they were making a difference in their small corner of the world. it was a simple reminder to me. even now thinking back over my last hour and a half -
'you are the light of the world . . . let your light shine . . . ' - matt. 5
