this time we are headed to the mountains. we left over 2 hours later than planned. holiday traffic has been good. we got pulled over. we are listening to veggie tales - a borrowed cd from jude. the kids have done really good for another long car ride. this is the 3rd weekend traveling in a row. its raining. and thanks to amie's laptop, our wireless highspeed and some fancy powercords - we're online & driving at the same time. or i'm online and rex is driving.

since i don't have my camera cord - i went hunting on this computer for pictures. and being a family vacation of sorts we took a short trip down memory lane with these classics!

amie looks a little frightened here -  1970 something . . . . dad, us & dead ducks -  a mom's kids sort of picture - again amie not looking to sure at what i'm doing -

this came from the 412 graduation . . .

Barbarians follow the heart of God wherever it leads - the civilized build sanctuaries and ask God to stay with them.

Barbarians have a mission and live that mission - the civilized have a routine and their heart dies within that routine.

Barbarians live the spirit of the law - while the civilized know only the letter of the law.

Barbarian’s live for the challenge - the religiously civilized live for the traditions.

Barbarians live for the voice of God and live in the mystical - while the civilized only know the ritual.

Barbarians can only live in uncertainty and risk -but the civilized need to live in the false comfortableness of control.

well all the high-tech-ness of this set up had issues last night - so we're just getting this posted.  benny and molly are still sleeping - it was after 11 when they finally made it to bed. mom is making donuts for breakfast. we probably won't make it out on the lake this year but we'll attempt to beat lisa at scrabble and relive five mile creek.

the only thing i forgot was to fly our flag - grateful for our freedom and those who have paid for it.
happy memorial day weekend -
