the rest of us worked. we raked. sprayed weeds. picked up piles.
and cleaned the playhouse.
i looked around embarrassed - she walked over laundry on the floor in the hall. it was 10 & only molly had had breakfast. the sink was full. she was kind to comment how everyone's bed was made.
outside was worse. our cat hunt/clean the garage project is a 'it looks worse before it gets better' sort of thing. toys, bikes, baby swing, garage stuff, cats!!! . . . . on and on. and that wasn't even touching the playhouse. the main cooking ingredient is dirt - feel free to use your imagination from there.
i was humbled. it was a love language thing. acts of service.
but wow - it looks good. after rex got home the garage miraculously came together. i wanted to mow the lawn just for the finished off look. the yard guys are supposed to come tomorrow though . . . we'll see.
the boys did not wear shirts all day. benny slept till 7pm he was so tired & worn out from sun and work.
grammy went home and mom, dad and amie came for a bbq. and after dinner -
we went on a bike ride. amie and i found some old treasures in mom's cellar. between that and what was in our garage we came up with enough wheels for everyone.
dad got grandma's old bike : ) ooh he was stylin'

tomorrow jack's staples come out. the grocery shopping trip is planned. sailor is super excited to wear a pink dress and go out with amie. jack gets a date with grammy & grandpa - his first ever sleep over. its friday.

this is the day that the Lord has made - let us rejoice and be glad in it. psalms 118
today was a good, busy, work hard, play hard summer day.

and the bonus - we went on a date last night : ) happiness.
