our most recent (& 'goobery') family picture : )

- - -

we were on our way home from grandma's and they were telling me about the obedience story they saw -

'it was early in the morning and there were children in the field and they saw a train coming and there were 'amemal' cars with lions but last there were huge ginormous!!

they were GINORMOUS! jack said.

'elephants! the biggest of all. it was a circus. and the children went to ask there mommys & daddys if they could go and they said yes and they followed the circus and it stopped and the clowns and the ring man and the ginormous . . .

they were huge & GINORMOUS! jack said.

they all got out and the ladies and the ring man and the workers laid out this big round . . .

it was GINORMOUS! jack said.

this big tent but it was still flat and and the elephant was not an old elephant it was an obedient elephant! (said with perfect robert greenlaw voice inflection) and the ring man took the ropes and told the elephant to walk and he walk and the pole came up and then he said to stop! - (and she claps her hands together) - and the elephant stopped - (another clap) - and he freezed! he didn't take another step he just freezed! ( through the rear view mirror i see lots of hand motions going on) and the tent was up . .

it was GINORMOUS! jack said.

. . . and then we were driving down our road and their attention was taken by the back hoe and workers across the road and the story was lost . . .

its been a long time since character first! days and i actually forget the ending of the elephant story : ) maybe at dinner she'll finish it for me!  its wild to me almost that the songs and stories i knew so well and taught to many a school kid are now being heard and learned by my own kids.  one of those make-you-feel-old moments, i guess  : )

anyway it made for an hilarious conversation on the drive home.
