i had actually planned on getting up early this morning. things like laundry, running the dishwasher, watering flowers somehow all sounded 'fun' to do this morning instead of after dark like normal. so when our show-up-every-now-and-then yard guys came at barely after six i wasn't as grouched as i might have been! i quickly tried closing doors & windows since the idea of everyone else waking up to lawnmowers & blowers at that time was not what i wanted. but they are long gone and all is still quiet and i am up : )
rex thinks its mildly humorous of me to say that the last 2 nights i have 'slept all night'. he thinks its a stretch to call 'night' sometime after midnight to just after six! i have not got up between 1am & 5am for any child the last two nights and on my own have woke up to daylight - i'm totally good with calling that all night!
because of crazy off work schedules (but not an excuse for it) my bible read times have dropped off . . . another reason for getting up earlier. this morning was a nice comeback. psalms 31 starts with 5 words - 'In You, O Lord I. . . . ' i could have stopped there and filled in the blank with everything.
In You . . . there is
strength
hope
peace
reason
love
wisdom
grace
' . . . blessed be the Lord for He has made marvelous His lovingkindness to me . . . '
we've invited the cousins over for a french toast breakfast this morning. our kids will be happy with sugar & syrup to top theirs with but for the rest of us i think i'll cut up some of the delicious fruit from yesterday. while it seems like lately i could totally live without ever eating chicken again (rex says its a pregnant thing as the rest of the family is in love with 'chicken on the bone' right now. so much that molly will eat by herself drumstick after drumstick down to the bone!) i would be willing to give a go at living off of french toast & fresh fruit . . . . that and jack and i are huge orange julius & smoothy fans right now even taking rank over starbucks : )
time to go.
happy day to you all ~
