25 days till christmas meant a birthday party for Jesus tonight. when we asked the kids this morning what would be a good dinner for it they said hamburger helper, pumpkin pie & cake. yeah, really that's what they picked. so that (and a salad cause that sounded good to us) was our menu by candlelight.

we 'dressed up'. the boys wore ties & us girls wore fancy black shoes.

it might have to become a tradition - the pumpkin pie & chocolate cake. jack asked if we could do this next time when regan could eat too. there were candles - lots of them. just to be festive of course since really God is timeless.
it was a fun night - celebrating Jesus, remembering to give Him our best & yes eating lots of pie & cake.

parties are messy. life is messy, actually, and even though it's late i think i'm going to stay up and get ready for tomorrow - cause i'd really like tomorrow to be a relaxing day. that could be considered an oxymoron : ) getting everybody up, fed, dressed in something other than jeans & rubber boots and out the door for church; on time!! is not relaxing . . . . but the afternoon has a shot if i stay up now!
