my personal favorite from the christmas parade last night -

i'm not sure why i could almost cry over this picture . . . well yes i do : ) look at him, tomorrow he might as well be 18! never mind that right now he still calls me mommy, isn't quite potty trained and has a 100 other things about him that make him very much a little boy . . . somehow figuring out how to ride jack's bike all on his own instantly grew him up.

there was great excitement the other night when we literally watched a mouse run around our house. gus proved worthless in the whole adventure : ) but the traps worked - by 4am we had caught 2 on one trap!

not exactly the drive to the mountians, tromp around in the snow, cut down a fresh tree, get it home & realize its 12 ft too tall christmas tree hunt experience this year : ) in fact we seemed to run across a lot of bah-humbug sort of people! rex likes the tree, i like rex - it's all good! and truthfully its probably the prettiest tree we've ever had - those mountain beauties can be something!

sailor loves a challenge with a reward. i'm very proud of her. for this special treat she learned all 66 books of the bible. her reaction when she opened it up was one of complete awe at its size. it's in the 'frig, cause that's where i like to keep chocolate. she is the kid you can tell 'have as much as you want' to - there's only about 7 bites out of it.

school time -
jack is learning to write his numbers. we've gone through a lot of sidewalk chalk and driveway space : )
they had a country life lesson last week when the butcher came to take care of a lame cow. they got quite the education. cows have 4 stomachs. the man used a chain saw! cow skin is on their bible covers and other interesting facts.

the guys got haircuts for the holidays . . . or really just because they were pretty overgrown!
we took silly pictures while we waited -

we bundled up & went downtown last night for the christmas parade. cold & festive! it was part of our 25 days till christmas.
the up close firetruck with real firefighters was cooler than santa riding on it : )

mom thinks its wild that i'm 10 weeks old already - 10 1/2 weeks really. mom says christmas is a really great time of year - lately she's got the hymn book out and sang christmas carols to me when i eat. molly likes away in manger & puts her hands in the air for the stars in the sky. mom & daddy have a stocking for me - they've had it for awhile. my grammy is stitching my name on it. grammy asked mom how many more stockings they had . . . mommy just did this - : ) i still pretty much do the same things - eat, sleep, cry, get held. i am smiling at benny & molly now. they like sharing toys with me. mom reminds them that God made my eyes pretty well and i don't need things on top of my nose to see them. i don't roll over or anything like that. my arms still whack me in the face sometimes. i've had 2 baths in a row and not cried - mom keeps encouraging me that i'm getting better. i like it best when daddy gets me dressed - he introduced me to the space heater the other day. between daddy's hands and that heater i'm set! i've had my first cold. mom's given me lots of lovies.
here's some snapshots of my life. mom realized putting these up it seems like i'm either with her or in my bouncer : ) but really i'm in other spots too - like with daddy, or my carseat, or laying on the couch, or with grandma, sailor picks me up alot, too. and the absence of white oneies is because mom has left me snuggled up in nightgowns since i've had a cold.

merry christmas. we've received our 1st christmas cards in the mail. we've eaten candy canes. we listen to christmas music all day long. the weather has turned winter cold. our tree is decorated. Jesus humbled Himself to come to earth.
