crazy that just a few days ago we were taking pictures in raincoats in hail storms & today we were poolside
the sun was its own drug today.
i fell asleep on the diving board
it was beautifully warm.
my arms hung down & my fingers dangled in the water - my legs saw sun for the first time all winter.
and benny's little conversations just could not hold up to the sun ...
so much for being a lifeguard : )
oh yeah - those are some muscles.

so lets back up and start at the beginning of our weekend - which started on friday night & meant yay dad was going to be around saturday.
grandma was over friday night while the boys were gone working & sailor used her for some good book time.
- - -
'it sure is a pretty day for the dump' - ben.
pretty indeed, we filled both trucks in our yard up and headed for the dump.
can you see rex in the side mirror - he was seriously shhshh-ing me & pointing to this sign ...
really? why can't you take pictures of little boys at dumps?
don't worry - this was off dump grounds. its pretty standard knowledge that after dump runs treats follow. i was following them when i changed lanes and went straight through the light 'cause i happened to see a starbucks drive-thru sign ...
a treat - for sure!
the guys however stayed true to authentic dump run treats and picked out their goodness from the corner gas station -
yes i have watched the food revolution and am aghast to admit there are chicken nuggets in our freezer and jack is still drinking chocolate milk ... albeit on rare occasion.
- - -
grandma's house being twice as far away as it used to be is not stopping us up too much yet from heading there for free after church lunches.
hello brothers & sisters in the pool.
- - -
the last bit of our sunday evening back at home was spent car washing -
well mainly rex washed cars - with some help from molly. regan watched from the stroller and was occasionally pushed around by ben or molly. sailor was off somewhere. jack was too ...
- - -
ah - we found jack.
the chickens were pretty thirsty : )
helpin' 'em back over ...
- - -
this is dolly's new picture face. i rarely tell her to smile but on the last one i did - it was just too cute how she kept crinkling up her top lip and closing her eyes
- - -
finishing up helping dad - it was the 'no more bubbles - we're all done with the hose' part of car washing.
- - -
sailor was around picking flowers. we've been waiting to see what color this one would be - it bloomed out pretty quick & smells delicious.
she's been especially excited about the colored ones - 'cause most of them are white ... my favorite yard flower color.
- - -
moving on from the chickens ....
sailor brought in 21 eggs tonight & even though that was from the whole weekend ... we added scrambled eggs to our leftover pancake batter menu for dinner.
- - -
and that - in one or two pictures - was most of our weekend : )
