welcome to the weekly post!
tomorrow is the last day of january & count them, there have only been 5 (well 6 including this one) posts this month!
crazy.
i took a nap this afternoon instead of sitting here. and now i'm sitting here instead of doing some mad woman rally of picking up the house. and tomorrow morning i'm not sure which one i will regret more for the bombed house .... my nap or this post : )
my mom gave us some chocolate chip cookies that i am just going to keep eating 'til they're gone 'cause i have that little of self control.
the kids recognized amazing grace in church today and were all excited to remind me that john newton wrote it. we have been listening to the psalty tape alot.
rex got some funky 12 hour bug last night. i made him go to bed while he protested slightly. and then i thought man of all the nights to fly solo .... saturday night. ahh, saturday night when the kids get baths & the sheets get changed & the counters full of groceries get put away. i kept thinking he'd surface after a bit, but i guess it just validated his sudden come down 'cause he never came out. but we rallied. every kid got their hair shampooed and a fresh pillowcase. the cat caught the mouse before the mouse got our food. the water heater had refilled by the time i got a shower. and hooray - rex is better!
see : )
our bed for my sunday afternoon nap was covered with all sorts of crumbs due to this. they take full advantage of the unmade sheet-less bed.
ben's get up for battle, i guess.
regan is a crack up because she has to be right smack in the middle of every wrestle match. and speaking of hilarious - she's got this radar now for the frig door being open & the drawer with the cheese sticks is always her target. behold the cheese stick stealing fairy : )

one day last week accuweather said santa cruz had brilliant sunshine with a high of 70 & a real feel of 73. i think i'll now start checking the forecast the night before : ) oh the beach is calling!
this was a brilliant as the sun got that day here with highs in the mid 40s.
we brought hot chocolate to the park
that actually stayed pretty hot ... too hot really : )
her first go at the merry go round - she liked it.

even though the little space heater is on high & sitting right at my feet i'm still getting cold. the cord is not long enough to set it right up on the desk. maybe i need more clothes on. seriously the other day i just kept layering up the kids - 61.5 degrees i think is a bit chilly for the resting room temperature. thanks to the heater only blowing cold air instead of warm air. jack always wonders why he must put on socks ....
because i'm cold : )
ready ... or not so ready the new week starts. actually i'm ready - in spite life not being perfectly in order.
we've got cheese sticks & fresh sheets - its all good!
