easter vacation so far .....
- - -
i was going to say it's late ... but 10:08 isn't really late yet. i've just surfed the few blogs i read & facebook has been scanned.
there is still popcorn to sweep up that's left under the table from dinner. regan's boots are laying one here one there where she kicked them off from her highchair.
yeah, we pretty much just had popcorn tonight ... except for jacky who surprisingly doesn't do popcorn. we also had spinach smoothies. yes, you read that right - we are big fans lately of blended goodness. spinach, with the right amounts of grapes, apples, yogurt, bananas, pineapples & ice is actually really good.
to your health, baby!
we watched a veggie tales movie tonight. incredible motivation for the kids as they flew around this place inside & out cleaning up. it was all about being content. nice for me as i'm needing that reminder tonight.
rex has been gone all day .... and will be all night. i'm hoping he'll be back by 7 tomorrow morning. he's a hard working man.
: ) sometimes i almost embarrass myself when i think too long about the fact i live with a man - lol. just typing that hard working man line out made me think of it.
we're married - its all legal, ok, right and very good : ) he'll read that and roll his eyes ... he never gets my every now & then 'don't you think its weird .... ' start up sentences.
ok anyway .... he's workin'. all day today. all night tonight. and then he will be home. i'm never good at remembering when he works all night and is then home in the morning that he really does need to sleep some time. i'm all about hey you're home, we should do something!
actually we have more than one something planned for the weekend.
communion. a trip to see family. a 10k run. easter celebrations. more family.
but here are a few parts of the week so far -
a trip to tractor supply - where we c.a.n.n.o.t. make up our minds one way or another whether we are going to raise chickens this year.
morning loves with benny. he is the sleeper of the family ... well i would be too. the difference is he can & i can't : )
we've had 3 funerals in the last 3 weeks - this last one the kids were with me all afternoon. rooski helped carry in the napkins.
mornings where we stayed in 'jammies & played games.
the last time we played i spy memory jack absolutely creamed us (and we weren't 'helping' him with any matches) this time sailor had a much better memory ... and jack got the dude, you don't win 'em all speech.
i even got a couple matches - i have no strategy or really patience for those games. i just start at one end and each turn flip the next card. i think it works better to the other players advantage : )
we had juice boxes, or pouches ... a treat whatever you call them. might have been a first for regan actually, who quickly mastered how to drink them!

we went to in n out ... too late one night. we're not into summer full blown yet and already our dinner times have dramatically shifted to later ... we went thanks in part to the 'summer' reading program at the library where every 5 books read earned you a free 'burger. it works out nicely for us - we usually read a lot of books & we usually order a lot of 'burgers : )
- - -
the lake is gone, however .....
boys will find mud. i kindly told them they had to be men about getting cleaned up or the next mud trip would be a no go.
they were good little men -
the mud on his face is not staged : )
- - -
we went through the car wash .... i guess 'cause its a vacation week and we took one from actually washing it ourselves. afterward driving around today every time i went to change a lane & looked through the side mirror, i was so impressed with how clear and clean it was : )
- - -
they played ambulance.
we watched another movie from the library -
jacky lost his first tooth!
we're pretty sure he swallowed it at in n out. he was on the phone telling grammy about it.
- - -
we went to the park -
it was her first time on the tire swing.
she liked it.
she made these darling happy little sounds as it went back & forth.
we have toothless grins everywhere : )
he lost his first tooth. he pumps by himself on the swing now. he is even saying L's in words. tomorrow, i'm sure he'll be 18 .....

well, now its getting late : )
we put up a new song tonight since its just about good friday. listen to it.
lets remember. lets not forget ....
lets be oh so very grateful.
i realize you were probably hearing those really great words right about the time you got to my man comments & those don't go together : ) so maybe go back & listen and then read ... or read and then listen.
either way hope you get the full effect of both!
one more cause she's just that cute.
