happy palm sunday.

we were late for church this morning. i was grouchy about it .... it works better if we have more than 4 seats for all 7 of us.

but once we all got in we were just in time to sing days of elijah. the kids were hoping we'd sing it this morning.  it's great palm sunday sort of song.

they pass out fake palm branches every year for this service to be festive ... or really to wave while we sing 'behold He comes riding on the cloud, shining like the sun ....'

so all my grouchiness flushed out while jacky waved his palm in my face & sang his heart out on the chorus 'cause the boy knows the chorus.

the being late didn't matter. the messy house didn't matter. the bad hair day didn't matter.

being there did. Jesus did. singing to Him did. i love our church. i love its people. i love my kids singing loud.

i also love youtube & a laptop. one morning last week we brought both to the table during breakfast to listen to 'there is no God like Jehovah' loud while we sang along.

i teared up then & i teared up this morning - beautiful moments .....

she really got herself stuck in the boys dump truck - molly came in to get me to help.  yes, it was funny : )

we are actually in bed early tonight.  no sunday naps today .... but tonight the house had a remarkable turn around from last night. the laundry is finally going. there is a candle burning. the dishwasher is empty. the bathroom cleaned.  we had good friends over tonight for fellowship.

and this week is officially easter vacation.  yay!  i actually forgot we could or should take a break : ) so this week we are. i naturally have the entire week already completely over booked. the park sounds fun. bike rides sound fun. a walk to the cows sounds fun. cleaning under molly's bed sounds fun. dying easter eggs sound fun.

i asked rex if he thought i should cut my hair today .... it was hot & hanging all down and in the way while i cleaned the toilet earlier.  he said i was never allowed to make that decision during a pregnancy or a period.

: )

ooh and now you're wondering, aren't you?

no. no, is the answer the that question.  i'm glad that nearly every girl i know is pregnant. (yes, that's a mild exaggeration ... but just mild)  i think its God doing a great job at helping me learn contentment - in the same way i 'help' molly learn self control when she needs help.

seriously.

i'm excited for them, really. and i'm good with how life is now.

although last night at the baby shower i was at the little baby in the diaper with her little legs hanging barely past her mom's side made me go  .... ahhhh : )

why were we on this topic!??

oh yes, my hair : ) no appointment has been made yet. lets move on to something different.

we stupidly bought something off craigslist yesterday, brought it home, set it up and then i decided i didn't like it .... at all.  sailor said it was because we didn't think about it. she was right - we used that as a nice 'yes, you're right, sometimes mom & dad spend money foolishly' talk.

craigslist has a return policy that is worse than targets - that is my funny joke : )

ahh!

God is so graciously good, because! rex posted it back to craigslist for me this afternoon & it is already sold!

ahhh! again, only that ahhh is one of great relief and thankfulness.

we took a $20 hit - selling it for $20 less than what we paid.

she is turning into a serious cheese ... and she kinda knows it.

then she found something on the work bench that was interesting.

- - -

we had lilacs ... so many that even the boys wanted some in their room. the old coke bottle is for manliness : )

- - -

speaking of manly ....

i'm not convinced he doesn't think he could just KO his own dad, he's got that much confidence : )

the one blurry shot shows maybe not ....

regs wasn't ok with her daddy boxing.

so he suited her up to have a go at it -

and she just went & gave him a love : )

- - -

a benny picture of regan & i : )

- - -

a conversation with his grandpa -

loves from her grammy -

they came to help build & cut & sand & paint & put wheels on derby cars last week .... and i took pictures 'cause every year he gets a calendar and this will go in next years : )  and no, molly was not excited to be in the picture.

i'm trying to remember the other things i was going to tell you .... but i forget them.  other than its easter week.

why don't we shop & bake & decorate like we do for christmas?  really we should go all out ...

the resurrection - the single greatest event in history that makes our very existence worth everything.

so, we're thinking .... of how we can do more than just dye eggs this year.

after all we have all this 'free' time since school's out this week : )

bye ~
