the kids that didn't make the last post : )

the week started off holiday style. rex was home. we flew our flag. we went to the church picnic. we welcomed mom back & said happy birthday.






this week has also been full of laundry. no really - more that usual : )

the rest of the week i've actually laid pretty low. 


low enough that she has picked her own clothes : )

its nice having weeks where there aren't 17 million things that need to be done or all sorts of places you need to be ....

ok well, there was just 4 million things ... but still!

but ironed pillowcases are the best.
 

this is her version of some game on rex's iphone - he was pretty impressed. i don't do games : ) but her detail & creativity constantly amazes me.




they worked today, really worked.  load after load of brush was hauled to the burn pile. all 4 of them for a good couple of hours on their own.  i was very proud of them.


jacky wrote a book. he colored it first and all during his brush hauling work he thought up the story.  after lunch i sat & wrote word for word what he said. its called About the Ocean and i included it here -

"Once upon a time there was a blue quiet ocean and a nice hot day. There was a police boat floating along -
then suddenly the alarm came on. The fire boat was already going on through the ocean.
Then the police boat was speeding along after. the lights were flashing on and off, on and off. 
And then the rescue boat came along. They were all going along and they met at the same time at the fire.
There were lots of people there watching the fire. The End"

rex is home now & the kids are on to the fact that he's calling the babysitter.
