pumpkins - they actually grew on their own out at the burn pile. |
Rex plowed his way through Middle East geography tonight reading 1 Samuel to the kids. Every town & valley that King Saul chased David through he managed to either butcher or pronounce.
They kept asking for more, while they sat in 'jammies looking at library books.
Man shall not live on bread alone ....

This was us 4 years ago tonight. Hours old little Regan.
It's one of my favorite baby book pictures.

It was royalty night at Awana last week. They somehow mixed ancient Greece & Amish & ninja and called it royal.
I love childish confidence that says 'yep, we're wearing this & we have no clue how utterly ridiculous we look!' : )
My favorite part is Sailor's purple high heel ... and Molly's smile & Jack's. Really Regan is killing me in this picture, too. Then Chad and his little sword swallowing trick, plus Ben the ninja - I was later told he was a knight.

Here's something else I don't ever want to forget ... the way he comes out of the shower on a Saturday night with his hair dripping wet but 'combed'.
Yeah, totally want to remember. He never gets it when i ask for the brush : )

You know how some schools have bikes all parked outside the door - we occasionally have a stroller ... full of loved friends waiting for recess.

they were the earthlings :) learning just how big the sun is & how small we are. |
Science class the other night, with friends.

Regan had her 1st ever friends birthday party. She has a daddy who loves to dream up spectacular ideas & then make them work. Her daddy also recently discovered Pinterest : )
Rainbows, it was.
The first day of fall brought the first rain in forever so all his great outdoor plans had to be worked out inside.
She thought it was the greatest and so it was a success.

Dolly caught on for the first time on her own the need to give gifts at a party & Friday she was beside herself because she had 'nothing for regan!!!' And then at the oil change place the mechanic gave her a random little basket ball & when we got out at the next store she ran around to tell me she could give it to Regan. We hid it in the front seat so Regan would forget about it & we said yay God! for providing good gifts.
Roo was genuinely thrilled.

Rainbows shout of faithfulness. Rainbows proclaim over & over every time God keeps His promises.
More than never flooding the earth again.
He keeps on loving us.
He keeps on providing for us.
He keeps on showing mercy.
He keeps on giving grace.
He keeps on, over & over, every time, no wondering if or how - He just keeps on.
There is so much peace in that.
So much life.
So much hope.
So much color.
So much grace.
Great. Great. Great is His faithfulness.
