Of Walks & Family -

The front door is open tonight. There is almost.almost a hint of fall. Maybe because we spent the afternoon reading Laura Ingalls The Long Winter & we baked sweet potatoes that I'm imaging more of fall than there really is : )

We I bought candy corn .....

Rex has spent the week working late.

I've been kicked out of science class tonight - I should be cleaning the kitchen.

[skip ahead 3 hours & we're back]

Kids in bed. Kitchen not clean ... there is always tomorrow. It's Saturday.

We went beauty hunting the other night .... beauty in being together, in not having a schedule or a plan. There was so much to see.

Family walk #2056.

It was hot & dusty & we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. It's harvest.

But I can still beat Jack in a foot race - in sandals - running full speed - barely.

Jack took this picture. Molly took the one of he & I. And so on ... we'd rotate. Then we'd run to catch up.

We weren't always ready. We were busy reclipping our hair after winning yet another race :)

Oh, were you wondering why I got kicked out of science?  Kicked out was a pretty strong term .... asked to leave? didn't have to be there? one less thing to do? could be alone? Don't feel too bad for me : ) Happy weekend.
