To .... Benny, ten.3 -

Ben-boy turned 10.

.... three months ago!

Sunday, when he was exactly ten years & three months old - I asked if he'd put back on his shirt so we could snap a few birthday pictures.

Never mind it's November & he's still shirtless - inside & outside.
(they say Thursday could be record breaking highs here. ugh.)

So he did his best to get the spilt enchilada off the corner of the pocket & we spent 7 minutes by the barn wall.

He's classic for the really bad fake smile.
He's always been the one to make or break a photo.

The kid is just ridiculously handsome.
I let him do all of this .... not looking, turning around, no smiles and then I focused on his face & said jumbo shrimp & started clicking.

He didn't know what to do with jumbo shrimp :)
But I knew .... eventually I'd get it.

His smile.

Back on his actual birthday ... we made them run miles :)

He opened packages from Grammy & Grandpa.

She recycled the box for his robot get-up.

Later his cousin & friend went swimming at Grandma's.

He wanted a waterproof watch & throwing knives ..... Amazon. 2 day free shipping. Win.

I love lit candles & deep breaths & pictures of my kids in front of their cake .... or pie :)
.... swoon & all the love.

This post was delayed in part because his 10 year old Ohio trip happened last month.
He's flown before ... but his excited was crazy beautiful.

We stole this one from Amie's insta .... she showed him a good time.
They went to corn mazes, the football hall of fame, shopping. He helped her at church. He drank more gatorade in 5 days than he had the whole year.

He's learning & growing in so many ways this year.
He's such a humbling reminder of grace.

You are loved, Ben.
In wild & unexplainable ways by Jesus ... you are loved.
