some of my favorite blogs today wrote up the same things about life being short. about never getting your house all the way clean & the laundry all the way done. about never having free time but never being bored. about enjoying the kids 'cause goodness they're already that old. about leaving the vacuum cleaner in the middle of the living room and heading out to live life & not miss it or them.
and i thought seriously - my vacuum cleaner is sitting in the living room! my bed is unmade ... ( i actually ruined our sheets - they sat for 2 weeks in the bottom of the laundry basket & something else around them must have been damp 'cause they molded! ) i've committed laundry suicide by piling it up clean & unfolded on the couch. it usually gets folded right out the dryer ....
my sink is full of dishes, but when i stand at it i look out and see this -
why their fascination with the roof i don't know.
so even though we're having company tomorrow night and i felt the need to vacuum the blinds i thought nah .... the floor can wait.
speaking of floors .... i could not find the broom yesterday. anywhere. how does a broom disappear? rex thought we needed a smaller house if i lost the broom in the size of ours : ) so i couldn't sweep all day - till last night when i found it behind the frig. i did not put it there.
i wish i had baby lotion. jack smells so little boy right now - that dirty, sweaty, hot smell. dirt smeared everywhere. shirt off. hair flopped. anyway i'd smear them all over with baby lotion tonight after their baths ....
we wanted to go on a date like crazy the other night .... but babysitting was not an option. why did we think taking them all along on our date was a good idea : ) well it was fine, it just wasn't ... you know, a real date!
he puts the whole thing over his head to carry it outside for me & tells me while he's walking out - 'don't worry mom, i walk in this house alot so i know my way without looking.' good to know.
do you know what he's telling them? not boys get down or be careful or don't touch - although he's not used to working with so much 'help'
no he was saying - that means Jesus is the Light and we want to let His light and His truth shine in all that we do.
i heard them singing this little light of mine out the window & i seriously grabbed my pen & wrote that down when i heard it.
he's a good man -
rex however is used to the help : )
yep - i think that is beautiful.
this is .... a dragonfly : )
he brings me a pumpkin on october 1st -
seriously we were asked if we were.
we were out on a field trip -
us in our lab coats : )
auntie april's the greatest - her first taste of oreos & cheese puffs!
meet italy -
and hobbs -
our 8th & 9th tries at having cats. rex has always wanted to get 2 cats at a time - this time we did : )
so in spite of the calendar now saying october ...
we've still spent the week in water. but i've set out my fall spice hand soap & lit the scented pumpkin candle.

back to the blogs - she had a line that said it was cuter in real life. this picture of regan is the same way : )
another one had a line about rallying.
i can rally
over the laundry. the dishes. the terrible vacuum cleaner that i no longer like. but ....
rex is home.
and the meat for dinner is not frozen in the freezer - an extra bonus to this saturday
: )
